1. Treat with Love

Your Wayuu bag is crafted to be durable, but it still deserves gentle care. Avoid tugging on loose threads or trimming knots, as that could loosen the intricate crochet design.

2. Quick Fix for Small Stains

Got a little spot? No worries! Use a soft, damp cloth with a drop of mild soap. Gently dab the area — don’t rub — to protect the woven details and keep the colors looking bright and clean.

3. Gentle Hand Wash

When your bag needs a deeper refresh, hand wash it in cold water with a mild detergent. Let it soak lightly, then swirl it around and softly work the soapy water into the fabric, especially over any stains.

4. Rinse with Care

Use clean, cold water to rinse until all the soap is gone. Skip twisting or wringing — that can distort the shape. Instead, press out the excess water gently and blot it with a towel.

5. Air Dry Naturally

Lay your bag flat or hang it up to air dry in a shaded area. Avoid direct sunlight to preserve the rich colors and texture. Make sure it’s completely dry before storing it away.

6. Maintain Its Shape

To keep your Wayuu bag looking its best, don’t overload it with heavy items. This helps prevent stretching and keeps that beautiful handmade shape intact.

7. Rhinestone Care

If your Wayuu bag features rhinestone embellishments, handle them gently to preserve their sparkle. Avoid soaking that area in water or exposing it to heat, as moisture and heat can loosen the glue. When cleaning, use a soft, dry cloth or lightly dab around the rhinestones with a barely damp cloth — never scrub directly on them.

Keep your bag stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight or pressure on the rhinestone area to prevent them from loosening or falling off.
